Our Distinguished
Patron
H.R.H. Prince
Bandar Bin Sultan
September
21, 2003 is a milestone in the history of MESTO: Three
years to the day when the orchestra had its first rehearsal
(on September 19, 2000.) On that Sunday evening, we had
the honor of performing a special concert for His Royal
Highness Prince Bandar Bin Sultan while he was visiting
in Los Angeles and the West Coast.
With
the help of my friend Dr. Tarek Shawaf, who was instrumental
in facilitating the event, the orchestra performed selective
works to demonstrate the wide array of musical styles
and talents. The Prince was so impressed that he offered
his patronage. He addressed the director and the orchestra
with warm and sincere expressions. Now, after three years
of hard work, we feel that our mission is appreciated.
This support is offered to us in addition to the support
and love of our loyal audience.
We
will celebrate this monumental event by working even harder,
and by expanding our repertoire and planning events that
were dormant for a long time. The time has come when we
can reach out to a wider audience, farther and more expansive
than Los Angeles. Let us allow many people to hear our
music, and witness their music represented through us
and our unique repertoire.
This
is made possible thanks to the talent of our musicians
and to the kindness of H.R.H. Prince Bandar Bin Sultan.
Thank
you,
Nabil
